DMAIC, A Six Sigma Tool

DMAIC stands for:

  • Define: Identify the problem, the project goals, and customer (internal and external) requirements. 

  • Measure: Collect data to establish baselines and understand current performance. 

  • Analyze: Determine root causes of defects or issues in the process. 

  • Improve: Develop and implement solutions to address root causes. 

  • Control: Establish controls to sustain gains and ensure performance does not regress.
